Four Easy Steps to Avoid Procrastinating

Why do we procrastinate? There are several reasons why people procrastinate, here are just a few of the main ones in my opinion,


1. Lack of motivation.

2. Low energy levels.

3. Low self-confidence.

4. Lack of understanding.

5. Poor organization skills.

6. Trouble concentrating.


We’ve all been there, sitting in front of our computer or on our phone scrolling aimlessly on the internet doing any and everything except for what we should be doing.


We tell ourselves it’s just going to be for a few minutes, you just want to check out the video a family member sent us or read this unbelievable article suggested to you by a friend.


And before you know it, that ten minutes you thought it would take you to read that article or watch that video has turned into an hour or worse several hours of procrastinating.


Here's the good news, in this article I’m going to tell you four very simple and effective ways to avoid Procrastinating.


1. Have a plan: know what you must do, have the tools readily available to do the task, and go straight to the task at hand.

2. Set time limits: Give yourself a hard deadline. Deadlines have a way of focusing the mind on the task at hand.

3. Avoid distractions: the internet, social media, and phone, stay focused on what needs to be done then do it. The internet is a time thief.

4. Reward yourself: After you’ve done the work allow yourself the time and freedom to enjoy your favorite social media platform just be careful not to get lost in the internet time suck. I would suggest setting a time limit for this as well.
